Chinese Boxing and Locks

Boxing

Further interesting areas in Wing Chun are boxing and locks. These are very efficient with a focus on economy of motion and body mechanics, but without looking for this. By this, I mean that the hands/head/legs locks are effective but you learn to use them only when they are applicable. So when you combine the boxing range, kicking range, locks and trapping hand/legs, then your body becomes a superior fighting machine.

For this reason, Wing Chun is a complete system and covers all the fighting aspects including both mental and physical training.

Wing Chun is a concept, you need to complete the entire system to understand it and to be able to use it. You can use it for your every day life and not only for the fight. It becomes a way of life.

Wing Chun Quotes

Do Wing Chun and don't think about 'self defence'. Self defence doesn't work.

- Lucas Castrounis

Traditionally, when someone committed himself/herself to martial arts, he/she prepared himself/herself for a very long process. That was the first characteristic a master looked for in an individual before accepting him/her as his/her student. Today, people are not as patient. They want everything given to them fast because they are "paying" for it. With this kind of attitude, masters of martial arts dish out either diluted or pure garbage to this type of customers.
