Q: Wing Chun, Kali Eskrima Arnis / JKD are they good for self-defence & fitness?
A: Wing Chun and Kali Eskrima-Arnis / JKD are more than just self-defence training courses. They are combat fighting skills making them a complete fighting system.
Q: What is the age requirement to join ?
A: We have adults (both male and female) ranging from the minimum age of 16, up to practitioners (new and old) in their 50’s.
Q: Do I need to buy any equipment ?
A: No special uniforms are required . A tracksuit is fine. Training school t-shirts and hoddies are available for sale if required.
Q: Are the classes graded by difficulty / experience ?
A: Yes we teach according to abilities and level progression.
Q: How often am I expected to come & train ?
A: The expectations of all students are to train regularly and to attend seminars held by Master Loukas in order for your progression to be assessed. You will only get back what you put in.
Two times per week is the minimum requirement for training.
The school opens four times per week. Training sessions are separately grouped as
Beginners & Advanced practitioners.
Wing Chun training classes are held on:Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s
from 7pm until 10 pm & Saturday’s from 12 until 2pm.
Kali Eskrima-Arnis / JKD training classes are held on:
Monday`s – Wednesday`s
from 7pm until 9pm
Q: Do I pay per session, weekly, or monthly?
A: The Training fees are monthly and are payable one month in advance. An annual membership to join the Reading Academy in Berkshire as a full member after a months trial period is required. Insurance & License is provided by the British & International Kickboxing Martial Association (B.I.K.M.A). Full members can use our equipment and get discounts on events/seminars.
Q: When can I come for a trial lesson ?
A: Please apply online or send a request by email. Successful applications will be invited for an appointment. We have a priority application list per month with limited positions. The Reading Academy Wing Chun & Kali Eskrima-Arnis / JKD in Berkshire is a full-time training school and training equipment is provided for you to use.
